About the Willow Wood Staff
We are extremely fortunate to have a staff that is experienced and well-trained in Early Childhood Development...one that interacts well with children and can readily form trusting relationships with them.
Our teachers are facilitators who stimulate, encourage and guide, but never dominate. They develop age-appropriate curriculum in a positive, play-based environment, which enables the children to create, explore and build confidence and skills in a safe, secure setting.
Willow Wood has 12 teachers, 2 aides and a music consultant, all of whom have an impressive combination of early childhood experience and education. The majority of our teachers have master's degrees in early childhood fields, and all have completed many additional hours of continuing education. Our overall staff retention rate is high, and our staff-to-student ratio exceeds the state licensing requirements.
Classroom Consulting Services
Willow Wood retains the services of a range of early childhood experts and consultants. From time to time, these consultants observe classes, confer with teachers at staff meetings and plan in-service training seminars.
We understand the need to seek advice from professionals in the area of early intervention for young children. Periodically, we may require the services of a consultant to observe a child in the classroom and make individual recommendations. With the parents' permission, these services will be provided by outside sources. Payment for such services will be discussed and agreed upon by the Director and parents before the services are rendered.
